Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer to support the planning, development, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our enterprise-level Microsoft Teams Voice solution. The successful candidate will translate business requirements into effective technical architectures and designs, ensuring seamless communication solutions that integrate with our broader IT environment.

This role is integral to the organization’s telecommunication infrastructure, focusing on deploying and configuring Microsoft Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity via Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Microsoft Teams Calling Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and configure Microsoft Teams Phone systems with PSTN connectivity using Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Teams Calling Plans.
  • Translate business requirements into technical architecture and communication solutions aligned with organizational needs.
  • Manage devices certified for Microsoft Teams, as well as ensure proper functionality of audio/video conferencing and voice migration processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Teams Voice infrastructure, including call quality and connectivity problems.
  • Collaborate with telephony providers and third-party vendors to enable and optimize advanced voice features within Microsoft Teams.
  • Work closely with other IT teams to integrate Teams Voice with workloads such as networking, identity, licensing, security, and compliance.
  • Provide support in the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Teams Voice infrastructure.
  • Ensure documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for Teams Voice is maintained.
  • Assist in the management and administration of Microsoft 365-related services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as a Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, and PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Phone and PSTN connectivity, including Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Microsoft Teams Calling Plans.
  • Familiarity with telecommunication technologies and telephony solutions.
  • Experience in managing devices certified for Microsoft Teams, including audio/video conferencing systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Microsoft Teams Voice infrastructure.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with telephony providers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Solid understanding of related workloads, including networking, identity, security, and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft 365 Teams certifications or equivalent.
  • Experience in enterprise-level deployments and migrations.
  • Knowledge of SBC (Session Border Controllers) and other telephony integration tools.
  • Experience with voice quality monitoring and optimization tools.
