Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Security Engineer to join our team. As part of the IT security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our systems, networks, and data. You will play a key role in implementing security measures, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents to safeguard our digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect IT systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts, identifying potential vulnerabilities and incidents.
  • Perform security assessments and penetration tests to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
  • Investigate security breaches and manage incident response, including containment, remediation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security measures are integrated into system architecture and deployments.
  • Keep abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and best practices, recommending and implementing updates as necessary.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions to employees on security best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an IT Security Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and access management.
  • Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, anti-virus, VPNs, and SIEM tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and security architectures.
  • Familiarity with cloud security, particularly in environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, security audits, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and security automation tools.
  • Knowledge of forensic investigation techniques.
  • Experience in incident response and disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
